INGREDIENTS
1 cup wine, wine cooler or beer (choose something you actually like the taste of. If you don't like beer, you won't like it as gummies either.)
½ cup sugar
3 tbsp. powdered gelatin
liquid droppers
silicone ice or candy molds (You can use bears, worms or any shape you wish.)
whisk
candy thermometer
baking sheets
Temperature: Medium-low
Time: 1 hour 40 min
Servings: Depends on the size and depth of molds
Recipe
Attach the candy thermometer to a small saucepan.
Place the gelatin, sugar, and alcohol in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the alcohol last because the gelatin will start to set or clump slightly the minute you add liquid.
Keep the temperature under 160 degrees so the alcohol does not burn off.
Whisk for 2-3 minutes or until sugar and gelatin have dissolved.
Set molds on the baking sheet, as many as will fit.
Using liquid droppers, fill molds with the mixture. When the mixture starts to get low, it helps to pour the mixture into a small cup and fill from there.
Refrigerate for at least 90 minutes.
When the gelatin has set, bears will easily pop out from the mold.
Store uneaten wine gummy bears in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
